Attendance was pretty low this week, with only 9 members in attendance. That's ok, though, as we still had fun and enjoyed lots of anime. We even saw a new AMV for the first time in a long while. There was going to be another one, but I blew it. Oh, well. Come to the next meeting to see what it was! The regular season of Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has ended for Tampa Bay Anime, and we're now moving on the the OVAs. While the opening animation is a little different, the actual episode is just like what we've grown accustomed to. This meeting's omake featured the return of Nodame Cantibile! When one of our other anime wraps up, we'll hold votes to see if we move on to watching the rest of Nodame. For now, it'll remain in the omakeslot. If you want to discuss Nodame's place in the lineup or anything else about our last meeting, discuss it by replying to this forum thread. Anime: Canaan #9 Valkyria Chronicles #10 Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei #13-OVA 1 Kemeko DX #9 Kimi Ni Todoke #3 Nodame Cantibile: Finale #1 AMVs: Dance Dance Revolution: Ike Ike - Re-Evolution Studios Last edited by Sharp : 01-25-2010 at 12:59 PM. |

I keep being a'feared that Kimi ni Todoke will fall into the romantic comedy stereotypes, but so far its been doing good and I can't help but like it :3 I hope it will stay.

Kimi ni Todoke is a bit corny but good. I'd vote to keep it.
I'm not crazy about Nodame myself, but it's a club staple, and I need some DS/PSP time so I'd vote to keep it going. ![]() Are there plans to ramp up either Canaan and/or Kemeko Deluxe! to a 2-episode block so we can finish those series over the next two meetings? Also, will we be getting any more Trinity Blood DVDs? They're only $4 at RightStuf. Any thoughts on what series we'll look to replace the ones we're finishing? I don't see any new anime that is even moderately appealing, but that's just my opinion. What are your thoughts on going with some older anime, i.e. Witchblade, Shana, or if we want to talk much older, maybe Orange Road (currently unlicensed) or something? |

Sadly, older anime goes over particularly poorly at meetings. I know we tried Hunter x Hunter and some older Tezuka stuff to abysmal reactions from club members.
I wouldn't mind older anime, personally. I love the early 90s stuff. Maybe we should try it again. I'm interested in Yatterman after the release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom for the Wii. (although there seems to only be 3 eps released...of 70) This season isn't terrible, but it seems to lean very heavily on fanservice. I'm watching Hanamaru Kindergarten (fanservice free) on Crunchyroll but I don't think that would go over well in the club regardless. There was a plan to double up, but I think it was in the slot where Zetsubo sensei is and that has a few more eps to go (OVAs, etc) If we don't double up, we'll be watching Valkyria Chronicles for the next year. Literally. |
